Cayuga Flats, Ithaca NY

Cayuga Flats is the latest in a series of projects that we have been awarded for Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services (INHS), one of the largest providers of affordable housing in Ithaca and the surrounding areas. Starting in December of 2019 crews began demolishing the existing buildings onsite to make way for a brand new, LEED certified, affordable, apartment building. LG Evans was contracted to perform all of the undercuts, utilities, foundations, retaining walls, pavement, and site improvements. This job was particularly challenging from a constructability standpoint due to its location adjacent to a busy two-lane road, and the steep grades that dropped off the back of the site. In addition to this, there was a fairly tall, complex foundation that needed to be installed requiring dozens of steps, ledges, and jogs.
